The swan holds a special place in the identity of Western Australia. When the Perth Mint was established in 1829, the surrounding settlement was known as the Swan River Colony. Today, this graceful bird remains the central emblem of the mint's official logo. This 2019 gold proof coin celebrates that heritage as part of the Perth Swan Series, showcasing a high relief finish that brings extraordinary depth to the design. Struck from one ounce of 0.9999 fine gold, the reverse of this coin depicts a serene aquatic scene. A mother swan glides across the water alongside her young cygnet, while a second swan is visible in the background. The design is framed by the inscription "The 1OZ 9999 Australian Gold Swan" and features the traditional "P" mint mark of the Perth Mint. The obverse carries the Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Surrounding the effigy are the inscriptions denoting the country of origin, the year 2019, and the face value of 100 Dollars.
