This modern silver release brings a legendary design back to life, drawing inspiration from the historic 1911 Chinese Silver Hsuan-t'ung. Struck in Shanghai, this piece is part of an eight-coin series celebrating vintage Chinese numismatic history. The original issues, often referred to as Kwangtung dollars or Dragon Silver, were heavily influenced by the Spanish silver dollar, which established the benchmark for commerce across the Far East. The front of the coin features a magnificent dragon characterized by its long, sweeping whiskers, accompanied by the English denomination of ONE DOLLAR. On the opposite side, the design displays elegant floral patterns alongside Manchu lettering and Hanzi characters that translate to Silver Coin of the great Qing Dynasty. This side also denotes the date, marking the third year of Hsuen Tung. Crafted from one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver, this specimen has been certified in Specimen 70 condition. To preserve the integrity of the design, the year, weight, and silver purity are laser etched directly onto the rim.
