The 2019 Kennedy half dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, stands as a modern tribute to the thirty-fifth president of the United States. This Brilliant Uncirculated coin features a composition of copper and nickel bonded securely to a core of pure copper. The obverse displays a left-facing bust of John F. Kennedy, a design originally conceived by Gilroy Roberts. The inscription of the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," is split across the lower half of the portrait, with the mint mark "P" positioned just above the date. On the reverse, Frank Gasparro's design presents a powerful heraldic eagle. The eagle holds a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, representing both strength and peace. The traditional Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is featured on a scroll held in the eagle's beak, while the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "HALF DOLLAR" frame the central design.
