The front of the coin displays the classic left-facing profile of President John F. Kennedy, a relief design originally created by Gilroy Roberts. It bears the inscription of the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST", alongside the 2019 date and the "S" mint mark, which indicates its origin at the San Francisco facility. On the reverse, the coin features Frank Gasparro's detailed adaptation of the Great Seal of the United States.
