Struck in 2020, this tenth-ounce gold coin represents a modern continuation of classic American numismatic artistry. Issued as official United States legal tender with a face value of five dollars, the piece contains 0.1000 troy ounces of pure gold content in a durable 0.9167 fine alloy. It was manufactured at the West Point Mint facility in New York and remains in brilliant uncirculated condition. The front of the coin displays a celebrated depiction of Lady Liberty, originally created for the double eagle coin of 1907. In this design, she stands proudly holding a lit torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing both enlightenment and peace. The year 2020 is clearly inscribed alongside her figure. On the reverse, a detailed wildlife scene shows a male bald eagle soaring through the air with an olive branch to present to a female eagle and their offspring waiting in a nest. This reverse composition was created by artist Miley Busiek, offering a powerful visual theme of family and national strength.
