The 2020 gold proof coin from the United Kingdom represents the seventh design in the celebrated Queen's Beasts series. Struck in one ounce of 0.9999 fine gold, this issue is backed by the authority of The Royal Mint and was released in a limited presentation of just 390 pieces globally. The reverse of the coin, created by designer Jody Clark, showcases the White Lion of Mortimer. Unlike some heraldic beasts, this lion is depicted without a crown. It firmly grips a shield that displays a white rose surrounded by a radiant sun, a heraldic emblem referred to as the white rose en soleil. On the obverse, the coin bears the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II along with the face value of 100 Pounds.
