Struck in one ounce of 0.999 fine silver, the piece highlights the Dung Gate, a structure originally constructed during the sixteenth century and situated in the southern wall of the Old City. The front of the round displays a direct view of the Dung Gate, showcasing the architectural details of this historic portal, which was widened in 1952 and later preserved and restored by Israel following the Six Day War. An arch above the gate features the Star of David. Legible inscriptions on this side denote the name of the gate, the year 2020, and the weight and purity of the silver in both English and Hebrew. On the reverse, a stylized artistic sketch depicts the various Gates of the Old City set within the ancient walls of Jerusalem.
