In April of 2020, a remarkable chapter in American numismatics was written in Pennsylvania. Over a brief twelve day span from April 8 to April 20, the Philadelphia Mint produced a limited run of just 240,000 physical silver dollars. Because standard bullion coins from this series do not carry mint marks, this specific Philadelphia production represents a hidden treasure for those who study modern coinage. It stands as the second smallest production run of bullion Silver Eagles since the series began in 1986, making it the second rarest bullion issue in the history of the program. This specimen has achieved the highest possible grading of Mint State 70 (MS-70), signifying a coin in flawless condition. Struck from one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver, the coin is fully backed as official legal tender by the United States government with a face value of one dollar. The obverse features the classic design by Adolph A. Weinman, depicting Lady Liberty moving gracefully toward the dawn. This side bears the legible inscriptions of the year 2020 and the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST". On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle rests beneath a cluster of 13 stars, completing a design that remains a cornerstone of modern American coinage.
