2020 South Korea 1 oz Gold ZI:SIN Rattus BU
2020 South Korea 1 oz Gold ZI:SIN Rattus BU
This brilliant uncirculated gold coin from 2020 represents the fourth release in the celebrated ZI:SIN series, which honors the Twelve Guardians tasked with defending the twelve cardinal directions. Struck by KOMSCO, the official mint of South Korea, this piece contains one troy ounce of 0.999 fine gold. The production of this specific issue was highly limited, with only 1,200 pieces minted. The reverse side of the coin portrays the guardian Rattus, a powerful prophet known for the ability to predict impending danger. Rattus is depicted wearing a celestial robe beneath the glow of a full moon. The inscription "ZI:SIN RATTUS" is clearly visible, marking this guardian's place in the series. On the obverse, a traditional Korean roof ornament known as the Nok-yoo-gi-myeon-wa (or Gwi-myeon-wa) is central to the design. Historically used to ward off malevolent spirits, this striking image is accompanied by the country of issue, "REPUBLIC OF KOREA", the year "2020", the metal purity "FINE GOLD 999", the denomination "1 CLAY", and the mint mark "KOMSCO".
