This imagery is based on the famous early twentieth-century gold double eagle designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The legible inscriptions include the word LIBERTY alongside the year of issue. The reverse introduces a completely new artistic direction, featuring an intimate, highly detailed close-up of an eagle's head. Created by Jennie Norris, this powerful portrait brings a modern aesthetic to the series. The surrounding inscriptions confirm the coin's weight and metal content, reading 1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD and 10 DOLLARS, accompanied by the traditional mottos E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST. This particular specimen has been certified in perfect 70 grade, the highest possible rating for a coin's condition. Encapsulated to preserve its flawless state, it also features a designation marking it as a First Day of Issue, indicating it was among the very first group of coins delivered by the mint upon release.
