2021 1 oz American Gold Eagle (Type 2) MS-70 PCGS (FirstStrike®)
The year 2021 marked a significant milestone for the United States Mint's premier gold bullion series, which first debuted in 1986. For the first time since the series began, a completely new design was introduced on the reverse side of the coin. This updated reverse features a highly detailed, close-up portrait of an eagle, created by artist Jennie Norris. On the obverse, the classic depiction of Lady Liberty walking forward with a torch and an olive branch has been refreshed. This Type 2 version incorporates elements restored from the original 1907 bronze cast by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, bringing new depth to the iconic image. The year 2021 is clearly inscribed on this side. Struck from one troy ounce of actual gold content, this modern fifty-dollar coin has been graded in perfect Mint State 70 condition. The United States Treasury guarantees both the weight and the 0.9167 purity of this historic release.
