This striking 2021 release is the forty-second entry in the expansive Biblical Series and the sixth design issued during its release year. Struck from two troy ounces of 0.999 fine silver, the coin features a dramatic high-relief, rimless format enhanced by a rich antique finish. Each piece in this limited run of 1,499 has its individual serial number laser-etched directly onto the edge. The reverse of the coin features a detailed depiction of the Transfiguration of Jesus, showing him alongside Moses and Elijah. This powerful scene is based on the historic artwork of Gustave Doré. The inscription "THE TRANSFIGURATION OF JESUS" is clearly visible on this side. On the obverse, the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf is surrounded by key details including the issuing country of Niue, the two-dollar face value, the 2021 year of issue, and the weight and purity of the silver. The coin is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity that displays the biblical passage of Matthew 17:2 to 17:8 alongside the original Gustave Doré artwork that inspired the design.
