The year 2021 marked a significant milestone for the United States Mint with the introduction of the Type 2 American Silver Eagle. This update represents the first major redesign in the history of the popular silver series, bringing a fresh aesthetic to a classic coin. Struck in one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver, this specimen has been certified in Mint State 69 condition, indicating its exceptional preservation and high quality. On the obverse, the coin retains the celebrated depiction of Lady Liberty originally created by Adolph A. Weinman. Liberty is shown draped in the American flag, moving gracefully toward the dawn of a new day. Legible inscriptions on this face include the date 2021 and the traditional motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse features an entirely new design, showcasing a single eagle in motion. Captured mid-flight, the eagle is shown coming in for a landing while clutching an oak branch in its talons. Surrounding this powerful central image are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and the face value of ONE DOLLAR.
