This modern gold coin from 2021 represents the second year that the Armenian Noah's Ark design has been issued as a Brilliant Uncirculated gold piece. Minted with a limited release of 25,000 pieces, each coin contains one gram of highly refined 0.9999 fine gold. Backed fully by the government of Armenia, this sovereign bullion release is part of an annual series that captures a famous biblical narrative on a miniature canvas. The obverse displays the official coat of arms for the Republic of Armenia. Alongside this national emblem, the face value of 100 DRAM and the 2021 year of issue are clearly struck. Legible inscriptions on this side also detail the coin's weight, its gold purity, and the issuing nation, confirming its official status. On the reverse, artist Eduard Kurghinyan depicts the dramatic scene of Noah's Ark floating upon the receding floodwaters. In the background, the sun rises behind the twin peaks of Mount Ararat, while a dove carrying an olive branch flies in the foreground, symbolizing hope and new beginnings.
