In 2021, a special silver dollar was struck to mark exactly one century since the classic Morgan Dollar series concluded its original run. This modern tribute, containing 0.858 troy ounces of fine silver, carries a limited mintage of 175,000 pieces. Though struck at the Philadelphia Mint, it features a distinctive "CC" privy mark to honor the legacy of the historic Carson City Mint, where many original 19th-century silver dollars were born. Designed by George T. Morgan, the obverse shows a left-facing profile of Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap decorated with cotton blossoms and ears of wheat, symbolizing American agricultural heritage. The reverse depicts an American eagle with its wings fully spread, holding an olive branch of peace and a bundle of arrows, all encircled by a delicate laurel wreath. This particular specimen is certified in exceptional Mint State 69 condition, offering a remarkably sharp look at a design that originally debuted in 1878.
