In 2021, a special centennial tribute brought back one of America's most celebrated coinage designs. This modern release honors the one hundredth anniversary of the final year of the classic Morgan dollar series, which concluded in 1921. The Denver Mint, which struck original silver dollars back in 1921, produced this commemorative issue using 0.858 troy ounces of 0.999 fine silver. This particular specimen is certified in perfect Mint State 70 condition, offering an immaculate look at a beloved artistic legacy. The obverse features George T. Morgan's iconic depiction of Lady Liberty facing left. She wears a Phrygian cap adorned with a coronet and a wreath of cotton and wheat. Thirteen stars encircle the lower half of the design, accompanied by the Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the date "2021". On the reverse, an American eagle spreads its wings while holding arrows and an olive branch. A delicate laurel wreath frames the eagle, and the Denver "D" mint mark is visible. The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "IN GOD WE TRUST", and the "ONE DOLLAR" denomination encircle the central motif. Measuring 38.1 mm in diameter and 6.2 mm in thickness, this coin represents a stunning bridge between historic American minting and modern precision.
