Introduced in 1982, the Mexican Libertad series has been struck every year by the historic Casa de Moneda de México. These pieces are highly regarded for their changing annual production numbers, which frequently remain much lower than those of other major global bullion releases. This particular 2021 issue is struck from one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver and has achieved the highest possible grade of Mint State 70 (MS-70), indicating a coin of flawless preservation. The obverse of the coin displays the modern Mexican national shield, surrounded by the inscription "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS". Encircling this central emblem is a historical sequence of previous coats of arms used throughout the nation's past. This design provides a visual journey through the country's heritage, all rendered in fine precious metal. On the reverse, the striking figure of the Winged Victory statue stands prominently against a background featuring the legendary volcanic peaks of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. The reverse face also displays the purity and weight details, marked by the inscriptions "1 ONZA", "PLATA PURA", "2021", and "LEY 0.999", alongside the "Mo" mint mark of the Mexico City Mint.
