In 2021, a special silver issue marked exactly one century since the final historic run of the classic Morgan Dollar, which was originally minted from 1878 to 1904 and briefly revived in 1921. This modern tribute contains 0.858 troy ounces of 0.999 fine silver. It honors the legacy of the southern branch mint with a distinctive "O" privy mark, a direct nod to the historic New Orleans Mint facility where original versions of the currency were once struck. The production of this specific privy-marked edition was capped at a strict limit of 175,000 pieces. The front of the coin presents a profile of Liberty. She wears a symbolic Phrygian cap, which is decorated with an artistic crown of wheat ears and cotton blossoms. On the back, a majestic American eagle is depicted with its wings fully spread. The bird holds a bundle of arrows alongside an olive branch, all framed by a decorative laurel wreath.
