2021-P Native Amer $1 - Eagle Feathers BU
The 2021 Native American dollar honors the long-standing dedication of Indigenous people serving in the United States Armed Forces. Minted in Philadelphia, this brilliant uncirculated coin features a special reverse design that reflects bravery and honor. Five eagle feathers, which traditionally represent courage in combat or exceptional deeds, are arranged in a circle alongside five stars that stand for the branches of the country's military. The design pays tribute to the contributions of Native American service members dating back to 1775. On the other side of the coin, the familiar right-facing portrait of Sacagawea serves as the obverse design. The coin's physical composition is a unique alloy, consisting of 77 percent copper, 12 percent zinc, 7 percent manganese, and 4 percent nickel. Legible inscriptions on this dollar include the words LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, alongside the reverse text honoring NATIVE AMERICANS and their DISTINGUISHED MILITARY SERVICE SINCE 1775.
