2021-S Silver Morgan Dollar MS-70 PCGS (First Day of Issue)
To mark the centenary of the final production run of the classic Morgan dollar in 1921, the United States Mint released a special commemorative silver issue in 2021. Struck at the San Francisco facility, this modern tribute carries the historic 'S' mint mark. The release was strictly limited, with the mint enforcing a maximum production cap of 175,000 pieces. The coin's design honors the iconic nineteenth-century original. The obverse features a left-facing profile of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, which is adorned with wheat ears and cotton blossoms. The year 2021 is clearly inscribed at the bottom. On the reverse, an American eagle is depicted with its wings fully spread, grasping both a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. A laurel wreath frames the central eagle design. Crafted from 0.858 troy ounces of silver, this coin represents a bridge between America's classic coinage era and modern minting technology. This particular specimen is certified in perfect Mint State 70 condition and is noted as a First Day of Issue piece.
