2021 Silver Morgan Dollar MS-70 PCGS (First Day of Issue)
In 2021, the United States Mint marked the centennial of the final classic Morgan Dollar production with a special modern tribute. This contemporary release, struck at the Philadelphia Mint without a mint mark, contains 0.858 troy ounces of 0.999 fine silver. It has been certified in perfect Mint State 70 condition, offering a pristine look at a design that originally circulated from 1878 to 1904, and once more in 1921. The obverse features a profile of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, which is adorned with cotton blossoms and ears of wheat. On the reverse, an American eagle with outstretched wings grasps an olive branch and arrows within a surrounding laurel wreath. With a strict mintage limit of 175,000 coins, this issue serves as a bridge between nineteenth-century American coinage and modern minting excellence.
