2021 Silver Peace Dollar MS-69 PCGS (FS)
In 2021, the United States issued a special silver coin to mark a century of one of its most beloved designs. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this modern issue contains 0.858 troy ounces of 99.9 percent pure silver. It has been certified in the near-perfect grade of Mint State 69, preserving the crisp details of its historic imagery. The obverse presents a profile of Liberty wearing a crown of pointed rays. Her hair is swept back, and the designer monogram AF is subtly placed on the neck truncation. Surrounding her are the traditional mottoes, including the phrase IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date 2021. This side captures the classic, hopeful aesthetic originally created by Anthony de Francisci. On the reverse, a majestic American eagle is depicted resting on a mountain crag, clutching an olive branch as a symbol of peace. The word PEACE is inscribed across the rock at the base. Because this coin was struck in Philadelphia, it does not carry a mint mark, maintaining a clean look that emphasizes the powerful design. The United States limited the mintage of this commemorative piece to 200,000 coins.
