In 2021, the United States Mint celebrated a century of one of its most beloved coin designs by releasing a modern tribute to the Peace Dollar. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint with a limited production of 200,000 pieces, this contemporary issue contains 0.858 troy ounces of 0.999 fine silver. This specific specimen has been graded in perfect Mint State 70 condition, highlighting the pristine preservation of its artistic details. The obverse features the classic left-facing profile of Liberty wearing a crown of sharp light rays. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, his personal monogram, AF, is visible near the bottom of the portrait. This side of the coin captures a sense of hope and renewal, rendered with modern striking technology that brings out the subtle textures of the original design. On the reverse, an American eagle is depicted in a quiet moment of repose. Perched atop a craggy rock, the eagle holds an olive branch in its talons while looking toward the horizon. The word PEACE is inscribed boldly at the base, serving as a powerful thematic anchor for the coin. Because it was produced at the Philadelphia Mint, the coin carries no mint mark, maintaining the clean look of the original 1921 release.
