2021 South Africa 2 oz Silver Krugerrand PF-70 NGC (FDI)
The Krugerrand is one of the most recognized designs in modern coinage, and this 2021 release marks only the second time the South African Mint has produced it in a two-ounce silver format. Struck from two troy ounces of 0.999 fine silver, this coin carries a face value of 2 Rand and is limited to a mintage of 10,000 pieces. On the front of the coin, you will find the profile of Paul Kruger, who served as the first president of South Africa. Surrounding his portrait are the words for the country of origin rendered in both English and Afrikaans. The reverse side showcases the springbok, a swift antelope that serves as the national animal of South Africa. This side also displays the year of manufacture, the weight of the silver, and the denomination. Historically, this design mirrors the very first gold Krugerrand released back in 1967. This particular specimen has been graded in perfect Proof 70 condition, highlighting the sharp contrast and mirror-like finishes of the South African Mint's craftsmanship.
