On the front, the design revives the iconic figure of Lady Liberty marching forward with a torch and an olive branch, originally created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the double eagle. For this Type 2 release, artists restored subtle details from the historical bronze cast to bring the image closer to its original artistic intent. The back of the coin showcases the debut design by Jennie Norris, presenting a highly detailed, close-up portrait of an eagle.
