Introduced as a modern chapter in United States coinage, the American Liberty series first emerged in 2015. The 2021 edition continues this tradition of artistic innovation, struck in one troy ounce of exceptionally pure 0.9999 fine gold. This specific issue showcases a high-relief finish, which gives the intricate details of the design a dramatic, three-dimensional depth. The obverse of the coin presents a powerful symbol of freedom, depicting a wild American mustang horse as it bucks off a western-style saddle. In the background, the rays of a rising sun radiate outward. This side of the coin features the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the year 2021. The dynamic scene was designed by Beth Zaiken and sculpted by Graig Campbell. On the reverse, designed by Richard Master, a detailed close-up portrait of an eagle captures the bird's intense gaze and textured feathers.
