This innovative 2022 release from the Treasures of the United States series celebrates the natural heritage of Nebraska. Struck in one ounce of 0.999 fine silver, the ten dollar coin is minted in proof quality and has an extremely limited mintage of just 500 pieces. Authorized by Mesa Grande, this issue blends traditional numismatic design with a physical geological specimen. The reverse of the coin features a specialized CoinJewels insert containing actual prairie agate, which was officially designated as the state rock of Nebraska in 1967. Surrounding this central gemstone element is a colorful tribute to the state, depicting the goldenrod state flower, busy honeybees representing the state insect, a cornhusker, the iconic landmark Chimney Rock, and the Nebraska state flag. On the obverse, a classic bald eagle emblem represents the nation. The inscriptions clearly display the issuing details, including the country of issue, the 2022 year date, the ten dollar face value, and the weight and purity of the silver content.
