2022 Canada 1 oz Silver $20 Super Incuse Maple Reverse Proof

This striking silver coin from 2022 showcases an innovative approach to minting technology, bringing a familiar national symbol to life with dramatic depth. Crafted from one troy ounce of 0.9999 pure silver, the piece stands out due to its super incuse design. The central sugar maple leaf on the reverse is pressed incredibly deep into the surface, reaching a depth of 1.5 millimeters. This deep-set leaf is further highlighted by a layer of rose gold plating, creating a warm contrast against the coin's reverse proof finish. The reverse side displays the classic sugar maple leaf design originally created by Walter Ott. It is accompanied by the inscriptions CANADA, ARGENT PUR, 9999, and FINE SILVER 1 OZ, all cleanly integrated into the design. This side beautifully balances the rich rose gold tones of the sunken leaf with the frosted fields of the reverse proof background. On the obverse, the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt, is featured. The obverse also bears the official face value of 20 DOLLARS and the year of issue, 2022.
