2022 Israel Silver 2 NIS Moses and The Rock

This striking silver coin from 2022 represents the twenty-sixth entry in the celebrated Biblical Art series from Israel. Struck in a proof finish with one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver, the piece showcases a dramatic scene from ancient scripture. The Holy Land Mint produced a limited run of only 2,800 of these legal tender coins, each bearing a face value of 2 New Sheqalim. On the obverse, the design depicts the prophet Moses holding his staff beside a stone from which water gushes forth. Below him, three figures gather to receive the life-giving liquid, with two of them holding jugs to catch the stream. This detailed rendering captures a moment of relief and wonder in the wilderness. The reverse side of the coin displays the face value of 2 New Shekels alongside the 2022 year of issue. To reflect the multicultural heritage of the issuing nation, the name of the country, Israel, is inscribed in three languages: Hebrew, English, and Arabic. The inscriptions also reference the biblical passage from the Book of Numbers, identifying the scene as Moses and the Rock.
