This striking silver piece from 2022 celebrates the spirit of human ingenuity by honoring Orville and Wilbur Wright, the famous siblings who achieved the first successful flight of a motorized aircraft in 1903. Struck in one ounce of 0.999 fine silver, the coin represents the fifth installment in a dedicated series celebrating influential historical figures. It features a brilliant uncirculated satin finish that highlights the intricate details of the design. The front of the coin showcases the two brothers in portrait, set against a background of technical aviation blueprints. Their individual signatures are also integrated into the design. On the opposite side, a symbolic muse is depicted reaching toward the sun, representing the spark of creative genius. This reverse side also displays the national seal of Niue, the 2022 issue date, and the face value of two dollars. Both sides of this legal tender coin were designed by artist Joel Iskowitz, with the entire production limited to 10,000 pieces globally.
