The 2022 West Point minted silver dollar represents a significant milestone in modern American coinage, marking the very first full year of production for the Type 2 American Eagle. This series, which originally commenced in 1986, received a major design update that was initially introduced to the public in 2021. Backed fully by the United States government, this sovereign coin contains one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver and has been certified in perfect Proof 70 Deep Cameo condition. On the obverse, the coin displays the iconic Walking Liberty design, which originally graced the circulating half dollar from 1916 to 1947. The legendary figure of Liberty strides forward, accompanied by the classic inscriptions of "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year "2022". The reverse features the newly updated Type 2 artwork created by Emily Damstra, depicting a majestic eagle in flight. This side also showcases the "W" mint mark of the West Point Mint, alongside the traditional national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the face value of "ONE DOLLAR".
