Although minted at the West Point facility, the coin does not bear a mint mark, keeping the focus entirely on its striking visual artistry. On the obverse, the iconic figure of Lady Liberty moves gracefully toward a rising sun, a classic design originally created by Adolph A. Weinman. The reverse features a modern design introduced for the series' thirty-fifth anniversary, crafted by Emily Damstra and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso. This detailed scene captures a majestic eagle as it descends for a landing, clutching an oak branch in its talons. Legible inscriptions on the coin include the national mottoes "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM," alongside the face value of "ONE DOLLAR" and the metal specifications.
