These elements were carefully restored by referencing the original bronze cast created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, bringing a renewed depth to the classic design. The year 2023 is clearly inscribed alongside the word Liberty and the traditional motto, In God We Trust. The reverse displays a bold, close-up portrait of a bald eagle, a design concept introduced by the United States Mint in 2021 and continued for the 2023 issue.
