On the obverse, the figure of Lady Liberty strides forward, holding a lit torch and an olive branch. This design is adapted from the famous 1907 Double Eagle by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, but the 2023 release incorporates enhanced details recovered from the original historic bronze cast. The year 2023 is clearly inscribed alongside the timeless image of Liberty. The reverse side displays a refreshed design introduced recently to the series, featuring a detailed, close-up profile of a bald eagle.
