Struck by the Perth Mint, this modern Australian legal tender coin is minted from one troy ounce of exceptionally pure 0.9999 gold. Issued under the authority of the Australian Currency Act of 1965, the coin is part of the celebrated Chinese Myths and Legends series. With a highly restricted mintage of just 250 pieces, this proof-quality release features an ultra high relief strike that brings its intricate Eastern iconography to life. The reverse side presents a dramatic visual narrative. A powerful dragon hovers above a flowing waterway, while a detailed koi fish swims below. At the very center of the composition rests a single pearl. In the background, the elegant arches of Beijing's famous Jade Belt Bridge span the water. The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mint mark is also integrated into this side of the coin. The obverse is dedicated to the Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Surrounding her portrait are inscriptions that record her historic seventy-year reign from 1952 to 2022.
