Struck in one troy ounce of 0.9999 pure silver, this issue is backed by the government of Australia as official sovereign currency. The Australian Silver Koala series originally debuted in 2007, captivating collectors by presenting a completely different illustration of the iconic marsupial each year. While the standard one ounce release in this series is capped at 300,000 pieces, this particular National Stamp and Coin Expo edition is far more exclusive, with a mintage limited to only 2,000 coins. The reverse of the coin showcases a tender scene of a mother koala and her baby nestled in the branches of a eucalyptus tree. This side also bears the inscription KOALA, the year 2023, the weight and purity, and the P mint mark representing the Perth Mint. On the obverse, the coin displays the Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by the dual dates of her reign, 1952 to 2022, alongside the face value of 1 Dollar.
