Struck by the Perth Mint, this modern Australian release brings ancient Eastern folklore to life on a canvas of one troy ounce of 99.99 percent pure silver. The coin is presented with a specialized antiqued finish that enhances the depth and texture of its complex engraving, giving the brilliant uncirculated metal the appearance of an ancient artifact. Only 500 of these specific pieces were produced. The reverse side displays a dramatic scene of a fire-breathing dragon hovering above a flowing waterway. Nearby, a koi fish navigates the currents alongside a single pearl, set against the backdrop of the famous Jade Belt Bridge in Beijing. In Chinese tradition, these creatures carry deep symbolic meaning. The dragon represents power, fortune, and the active energy of yang, while the koi is celebrated as an emblem of determination, triumph, and prosperity. The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mint mark is also integrated into this side of the design. On the obverse, the coin bears the classic effigy of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. This portrait is accompanied by inscriptions marking the historic span of her reign from 1952 to 2022.
