The 2023 edition of this Australian legal tender coin showcases the country's most famous marsupial in a natural setting. Struck from 1/10 ounce of extremely pure 0.9999 gold, the reverse of the coin displays a kangaroo alongside native eucalyptus and grass trees. This side also incorporates the year 2023, the weight, the purity, and the classic 'P' mint mark representing the Perth Mint, which produced the piece. On the obverse, the coin bears the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II along with the face value of 15 Dollars. The series itself has a rich history, starting out in 1986 under the name Gold Nugget. Three years later, in 1989, the focus shifted to the kangaroo theme, with the reverse imagery changing annually to offer a fresh artistic perspective. This particular release was restricted to a maximum of 200,000 pieces.
