This brilliant uncirculated coin is composed of one troy ounce of 0.999 pure gold, representing a long-standing tradition of Mexican coining. The production is backed and guaranteed by the Banco de México, the primary institution that commissions work from the national mint. The obverse of the coin displays the official Mexican seal, with the inscription ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS forming a curve above the central eagle. Framing this central image is a circular gallery of various historical coats of arms used by the nation throughout its past. This design, updated in the year 2000 to reflect the contemporary national emblem, celebrates the country's evolving identity. On the reverse, the coin features the iconic Winged Victory statue, a symbol of freedom set against a landscape that includes the legendary active volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl.
