2023 Niue Colorized 1 oz Silver $2 Smurfs 65th Anniversary in TEP

In 1958, the world was first introduced to the beloved blue characters known as the Smurfs. To mark the 65th anniversary of their debut, a special silver coin was issued in 2023 under the authority of Niue. This brilliant uncirculated piece is struck from one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver, combining precious metal with vibrant colorized artwork. The obverse side of the coin features the official coat of arms of Niue, surrounded by a whimsical border of the iconic mushroom-shaped houses that make up the Smurf village. The face value of two dollars and the 2023 year of issue are also clearly displayed on this side. On the reverse, a colorful Smurf peeks playfully from behind a wall. This side also showcases the official logo marking the 65th anniversary of the characters, alongside the signature copyright mark of their creator, Peyo. With a highly restricted mintage of just 1,958 pieces, this release is a creative tribute to decades of animated history.
