The 2023 Kennedy half dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, continues a long-running tribute in American coinage. This particular issue is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, showcasing the sharp details of its original strike. Rather than precious silver, this modern coin is composed of a copper-nickel outer layer bonded securely to a core of pure copper. The obverse displays a left-facing portrait of President John F. Kennedy, originally created by sculptor Gilroy Roberts. Surrounding the profile are the inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year of issue, "2023", alongside the "P" mint mark indicating its origin in Philadelphia. On the reverse, the design by Frank Gasparro features a detailed heraldic eagle. The eagle holds both a bundle of arrows and an olive branch, representing strength and peace. The traditional Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is integrated into the design, which is framed by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "HALF DOLLAR."
