The 2023-S Silver Peace Dollar represents a modern continuation of one of America's most celebrated coin designs. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this coin is composed of 0.858 ounces of 99.9 percent pure silver. It has been certified in Proof 69 Deep Cameo condition, highlighting the sharp contrast between the frosted design elements and the mirror-like background fields. The obverse displays a striking left-facing profile of Liberty, adorned with a crown of sharp light rays. Beneath her neck, the subtle monogram of the original designer, Anthony de Francisci, is visible. The design also incorporates the traditional motto "IN GOD WE TRVST" using the classic Latin spelling for the letter U, alongside the date. On the reverse, a majestic American eagle is perched quietly upon a rocky crag, clutching an olive branch in its talons as it gazes toward the dawn. The word "PEACE" is inscribed at the very base of the design, underscoring the hopeful theme of the coin. The San Francisco "S" mint mark is also present on this side, denoting its origin. Production of this specific proof issue was strictly limited to 400,000 pieces.
