2023 Silver Morgan Dollar MS-70 PCGS (FirstStrike)
The legacy of a classic nineteenth-century design lives on in the modern era. This 2023 issue brings back the iconic imagery created by George T. Morgan, capturing the detailed artistry of the original series that was struck from 1878 to 1904, and once more in 1921. Produced at the Philadelphia Mint without a mint mark, this piece contains 0.858 troy ounces of 0.999 fine silver. It has been certified in perfect Mint State 70 condition, representing the peak of preservation for this limited release of 275,000 coins. The front of the coin presents a profile of Liberty. She is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, which is adorned with wheat ears and cotton blossoms, symbolizing American agriculture. On the reverse side, a majestic American eagle is shown with its wings fully spread. The bird holds a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons, framed by a delicate laurel wreath. This striking combination of symbols remains one of the most recognized and celebrated motifs in the history of United States coinage.
