The 2023 Silver Peace Dollar marks a modern continuation of one of America's most celebrated coin designs. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this issue contains 0.858 troy ounces of 0.999 fine silver. It carries forward the legacy of the original minting period, which ran from 1921 to 1935, bringing a classic aesthetic into the twenty-first century with a brilliant uncirculated finish. On the obverse, a left-facing profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a crown of sharp, radiant light rays. The designer's monogram, AF, is subtly integrated into the design. The legend features the traditional motto IN GOD WE TRUST, rendered with a classic V in place of the U in the word TRUST. The reverse presents a peaceful yet powerful image of an American eagle perched upon a mountain crag. In its talons, the eagle grasps an olive branch as it looks toward a rising sun. The word PEACE is inscribed boldly at the base of the design, harmonizing with the denomination of ONE DOLLAR.
