2023 Silver Peace Dollar MS-70 PCGS (First Day of Issue)

The 2023 Peace Dollar represents a modern continuation of one of America's most celebrated coin designs. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint without a mint mark, this specimen contains 0.858 troy ounces of 99.9 percent pure silver. It has been graded in perfect Mint State 70 (MS-70) condition, indicating its flawless strike and preservation from the very first day of its release. The production of this specific issue was limited to 275,000 pieces. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a crown of sharp, radiant light rays. The designer, Anthony de Francisci, left his mark on the coin with his stylized monogram, AF, which is visible near the bottom of the portrait. The design is accompanied by the classic inscription IN GOD WE TRUST, rendered with a traditional V in place of the U. The reverse side presents a powerful yet serene image of an American eagle perched upon a stone crag. Clutched in its talons is an olive branch, symbolizing a desire for harmony. The word PEACE is inscribed clearly at the base of the design, underscoring the coin's historic message alongside the denomination of ONE DOLLAR.
