The 2023 Peace Dollar represents a modern continuation of one of America's most celebrated coin designs. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint with a mintage of 275,000, this issue contains 0.858 troy ounces of 0.999 fine silver. Because it was minted in Philadelphia, the coin carries no mint mark, maintaining a clean and classic appearance. On the obverse, the profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a crown of radiant light rays. The designer's monogram, representing Anthony de Francisci as "AF", is subtly placed on this side of the coin. The legend "IN GOD WE TRVST" is inscribed across the field, utilizing the traditional spelling where a "V" replaces the "U". The reverse displays a peaceful American eagle perched upon a stone, looking out toward the horizon. The word "PEACE" is inscribed at the base, serving as a powerful and simple statement. This particular specimen has been certified in the highest possible grade of Mint State 70 (MS-70), indicating a coin of flawless preservation.
