2023 South Korea 1 oz Silver Tiger BU
2023 South Korea 1 oz Silver Tiger BU
The Korean Tiger silver bullion series, which debuted in 2016, celebrates the majestic Siberian tiger. Although the last wild tiger in South Korea was reportedly documented in 1922, the creature remains a powerful cultural symbol. This 2023 release, struck by KOMSCO with a limited mintage of 30,000 pieces, captures the spirit of the animal in one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver. The obverse of the coin presents a charming scene of a young tiger cub alongside a depiction of the famous "Hand of Harmony" sculpture and the Homigot lighthouse, complete with the inscription "HOMIGOT" to mark the coastal location. On the reverse, the coin features a creative representation of the Korean Peninsula formed out of Hangul calligraphy, set against a background of tiger print. The KOMSCO logo and the purity inscription of "0.999 FINE SILVER" complete this intricate design.
