The 2023 American Silver Eagle represents a beautiful bridge between early twentieth-century American art and contemporary design. Containing one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver, this specimen has been graded in Mint State 69, indicating a coin of exceptional preservation and strike quality. While minted at the West Point Mint, the coin does not bear a mint mark, keeping the focus entirely on its iconic imagery. On the obverse, the legendary walking figure of Lady Liberty moves gracefully toward the dawn, draped in the folds of the American flag. This timeless illustration, originally created by Adolph A. Weinman, has graced the series since its inception in 1986. The inscriptions accompanying Liberty include the year 2023 and the traditional motto, IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse showcases a modern design introduced in 2021, drawn by Emily Damstra and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso. It depicts a powerful eagle in mid-flight, clutching an oak branch as it prepares to land. Surrounding this dynamic wildlife scene are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ.
