The Year of the Dragon comes to life on this half-ounce silver coin, representing the fifth design in the celebrated Lunar Series III from Australia. Struck from 99.99 percent pure silver, the piece features a striking reverse illustration of a colorized dragon navigating through a sky of clouds, accompanied by the traditional flaming pearl. The Chinese character representing the mythical beast is inscribed alongside the text DRAGON 2024, and a special P125 mint mark is present to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint. On the obverse, the coin displays the Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which includes the years of her historic reign from 1952 to 2022. Surrounding the effigy, the inscriptions detail the weight of one half ounce, the silver purity, the 50 cents denomination, and the 2024 issue date.
