A remarkable fusion of numismatic art and mechanical playfulness, this 2024 Australian two-dollar coin celebrates a half-century of the world's most famous puzzle. Crafted from two ounces of 99.99 percent pure silver, the piece captures the imagination by embedding a miniature, rotating Rubik's Cube directly into its center. This central model is plated in 24-carat gold and actually spins, mimicking the tactile motion of the classic toy. The surrounding silver canvas is treated with an antiqued patina, contrasting beautifully with the vibrant colorized faces of the puzzle depicted on the reverse. Accompanying the central kinetic element are the inscriptions "50 Years" and the famous solving mantra, "Twist, Turn, Solve." The Perth Mint's traditional "P" mint mark is also visible on this side. On the obverse, the effigy of King Charles III, designed by Jody Clark, faces left.
